Welcome to 2013
Welcome to another year of Rams sports and celebrations.
The Annual General Meeting of the Sports Club was held at the Australian Hotel & Brewery on 19th November 2012. Audited accounts of the activities of the Sports Club and its divisions were submitted. Brian Yates was re-elected President and Lauren Phillips was elected Treasurer of the Sports Club for 2013. We still need a Secretary so if you would like to take on this role please contact president.club@rousehillrams.com.au
Gala Night – a celebration of Ram’s achievements over the past 7 years, this night will be held at the Crowne Plaza Norwest on Saturday 23rd February 2013. The event is NOT a fund raising night, nor is it an assault on your senses by boring speakers with equally boring speeches. It is simply a night for you and your partner to get out and celebrate being part of the Rams community – use the links at the web site www.rousehillrams.com.au to obtain tickets for this great evening of food, music and friendship.
Preparations are well underway for Soccer and Netball’s 8th season, while our summer divisions will soon be looking at wrapping up Little Athletics and Cricket.
We look forward to our sponsors engaging with us again in 2013 in what will be another fantastic year of Rams sport and competition.

Winter winners
Congratulations to our junior and senior Netball and Soccer teams who have rounded out their season this weekend as competition Grand Finalists. Those games that I attended were played with true Rams spirit and sportsmanship – my congratulations to all our Coaches, Managers and of course, our parents that mentor and encourage fair play.
As the curtain lowers on the 2012 winter season, my congratulations also to Paul and Narelle and their respective committees for the behind the scenes hard work and administration that underpins every successful season. Despite the hiccough at the beginning of the soccer season, our new Committee, supported by old experience and young enthusiasm delivered our soccer followers a fantastic time on and off the field, capped off with the GDSFA Gala Day and premiership winning teams.
To all our winter competitors, whether winners or not, we are all proud of your achievements throughout this season’s competition.
Sport is a major part of the culture of this country. It touches us all, whether we are participants, spectators or volunteers. Our quality of life is significantly enhanced by sport. It gives us the opportunity for self expression and provides us with a sense of camaraderie and friendship. Sport enables us to stretch ourselves physically and mentally, and teaches us how to win and lose. Sport has the ability to over come social barriers and provides us with multiple returns for our investment – we will continue to build sport in the Rouse Hill community with your support and assistance.

Winter competition starts
Winter competition across Soccer and Netball is underway with record numbers of players registered across both sports. My congratulations to both Committees for their outstanding work in processing players, organising grading and teams, finding and securing Coaches and Managers, attending your Association’s meetings, finalising training schedules, organising uniforms and finally making it onto courts and pitches for game day. It takes a huge voluntary effort, behind the scenes to prepare and launch each new season, and a contuining dedication throughout competition to ensure that everyone’s expectations are realised.
In 2006 our Soccer Club started with 186 junior and senior players – today the Club boasts 644 juniors and seniors. Netball started in 2006 with just 48 players; today our girls take to the courts with 303 players across junior and senior teams. For the 2011-12 season just completed, the Rouse Hill Rams Sports Club had 1738 registered players competing across Netball, Soccer, Cricket and Little Athletics.
Our congratulations to the 4 Premiership winning Cricket sides – 2 junior teams – the 11-3s and 14-2s, ands 2 senior sides – the B5s and the B9s. Rouse Hill Rams Cricket Club in its sixth year, celebrated its most successful season ever with the Parramatta District Cricket Association, and is widely tipped to become the PDCA’s Club Champions for season 11-12.
Our congratulations also to the retiring Executive or our Little Athletics Centre. Amanda Burke and her Committee have successfully led the Centre for the past 2 years – at the recent Annual General Meeting, Amanda stood down from her position, and former Secretary Bob Gribbin has taken on the role of President – we wish Bob and his Committee continuing success as the Centre heads into its sixth year as part of the Rouse Hill Rams Sports Club.
